Galesburg Civic Art Center to hold 15th Annual Kid's Month | Arts & Culture

GALESBURG, Ill.--The Galesburg Civic Art Center will hold its 15th annual Kid’s Month in January 2013. Each year, Kid’s Month gives area children the opportunity to create art and have it exhibited in the main Joanne R. Goudie Gallery. This year’s theme is “Vie de France!” and will be based around the architecture, artists and art history of France. Children will be creating their own works of art over a 2 ½ week period in January and the artwork will then be displayed as an exhibition from January 25th through February 1st, 2013.
Art creation hours will take place January 3rd – 21st, 2013 and are as follows:
Thursday January 3rd: 11:00 am -3:00pm
Friday January 4th: 11:00 am – 3:00pm
Saturday January 5th: 11:00am – 2:00pm
Tuesday January 8th: 6:00pm – 7:30pm
Thursday January 10th: 6:00pm – 7:30pm
Saturday January 12th: 11:00am – 2:00pm
Tuesday January 15th: 6:00pm – 7:30pm
Thursday January 17th: 6:00pm – 7:30pm
Saturday January 19th: 11:00am – 2:00pm
Monday January 21st: 11:00am – 3:00pm
This program is free and designed for children ages Kindergarten through 5th grade, and parents are encouraged to stay with their child during class time.
A closing reception will take place on Friday, February 1st from 5-7pm.
